What if you could follow up with your customers who add an item to their cart, but never give you an email address or complete a purchase?

That's exactly what the new incentive checkbox from Octane AI enables you to do. The incentive checkbox is a Facebook Messenger opt-in that appears next to the add to cart button on your product page, offering an incentive for the customer to check the box to opt-in to Messenger.

Here's how it works:

  • You use Octane AI to add the checkbox, and an incentive, next to your add to cart buttons.
  • The customer sees this, checks the box, and adds the item to their cart.
  • The customer immediately receives a message on Facebook from your brand with a discount code or exclusive piece of content.
  • The customer continues shopping.
  • If the customer doesn't complete their purchase after an hour, or timing of your choosing, they receive a cart abandonment message showing them the contents of their cart and CTA to complete their purchase.
  • You also have the ability to send messages to this customer in the future when you have a new sale or a new product.

Enabling the checkbox on your product pages is a seamless way to increase the number of customers your brand connects with every day.

 

How to Run A Marketing Campaign with

Your Add to Cart Checkbox

Whether it's a seasonal or year-round campaign, you can customize your add to cart checkbox to encourage customers to opt-in. This makes them eligible to receive browse abandonment messages and abandoned cart flows on Messenger!

Your add to cart checkbox displays underneath the add to cart button, so while customers are browsing or adding to the cart, why not give them an extra incentive?

Here's an example of an add to cart checkbox that offers a free tote bag with the customer's purchase:

When my customer selects the checkbox, they're immediately sent a message through Messenger to receive their discount code:

By sending them back to the store, they can use the discount code with their purchase. Running a campaign like this will help incentivize Messenger subscribers and encourage them to purchase.

Make It Timely!

By changing your custom message, you can run a campaign for a set amount of time. Would your customers respond to a free tote bag today ONLY? What about during a Back-to-School or Black Friday Sale?

You can customize the message and change it at any time. This way you can run an add to cart checkbox campaign for a limited time only.

Offer Value, Not Discounts

Instead of offering a discount, free shipping, or free items you can also offer digital gifts. Providing your customer with exclusive access to content, news, or guides can incentivize them to opt-in to your Messenger list. When someone opts-in, you can add your digital gift to the Messenger conversation. For example:
